Despite a season that has seen numerous car related issues the Port Macquarie based SKM Motorsport Dirt Late Model Team remains upbeat heading into the next Round of the ELMA sanctioned East Coast Late Model Series at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway (NSW) Saturday February 13.

“I’d be lying if I said this has been one of our best seasons, but you just have to take the obstacles in your stride, and continue on with the philosophy that things will only get better” said team principal and driver Neil Wallace.

“With the run of problems we’ve had it really makes you more determined to get back to the pointy end of the field as soon as possible”.

“We are doing everything right in the workshop, but when we get to the track ‘lady luck’ seems to desert us. Our best Main results this season have been second places at Maryborough and Nowra, and a 4th at Parramatta (in a car with mechanical issues)” Wallace said.

“Parramatta has been our real ‘bogey’ track this season. We haven’t gotten through a meeting without some drama, so Saturday night we are aiming to turn our season around big time”.

“With Nowra being rained out last weekend it has given the team extra time to fully prepare the car for this meeting. It’s imperative that we get some solid results on the board Saturday night in order to put us in a good position for the rescheduled Tyrepower Late Model Grand National to be held later in the season. We did win a Main at Parramatta last season, and it would be great to return to that form on Saturday night” concluded Wallace.
